Graham Stewart,
PhD, D.Sc.
Senior Advisor Brewing Technology
Dr. Graham Stewart is a world-renowned authority in brewing
technology and the recipient of numerous awards for his
research on yeast genetics and biochemistry. His career
includes 27 years with Labatts as Director of R&D
plus several years conducting research with various academic
organizations. In addition to his work for First Key,
he is the Director of the prestigious Centre for Brewing
and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Graham
is an active advisor to governments, brewing industries
and scientific organizations around the world and has
published over 150 papers, patents, books and review articles.

Experience
In addition to his current position as Director and
Professor of the International Centre for Brewing and
Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, Dr. Stewart has
held several management positions with Labatts in Canada.
He directed the technical affairs for Labatt for over
20 years including Brewing Research, Process and Product
Development, Quality Assurance. His responsibilities
included Strategic Technical Planning for worldwide
Labatt brewing operations in Canada, USA, and Europe.
